Playing At Old Trafford Was A Dream Come True – David Alaba

Bayern Munich’s defender David Alaba has said that playing at Old Trafford in the first leg quarter final UEFA Champions League match was a dream come true for him. His side were held to a 1 – 1 draw in that particular encounter.

The 21 year old Austrian international who had won the UEFA Champions League trophy with Bayern Munich had already played several matches in some very popular stadia across Europe. But the game at the Theatre of Dreams was a dream, come true for the player.

David Alaba told Austrian newspaper Kurier

"Going there was another dream come true. Now I know almost every major stadium in Europe. Milan's missing me."

The player who is currently rated at £30 million further went on to say that he still prefers his Allianz Arena Stadium to anywhere else.

"Going there was another dream come true. Now I know almost every major stadium in Europe. Milan's missing me."

The player however dropped a bombshell when he said that his club would most likely not concentrate on United’s tactics in their winner-takes-all second leg quarter final match.

"We are a team that does not look at the opponent. We have to play our game. Coach Guardiola will certainly set us right again."

The 21 year old defender recently signed a new contract with his club and had indicated his interest in playing in the center of the park. If Bayern Munich suffers further injuries to their players, the second leg clash may just give him the opportunity he so desires.

Alaba’s claim that they are not studing United’s tactics should however be taken with a pinch of salt. Knowing a Coach like Pep Guardiola, he would explore all the potential weaknesses of his opposition.

Should the Germans suffer any further injuries to add to their suspensions in the position, and Bayern have cover at full-back, the match against United could even end up as his big opportunity. Let’s see how he would fare in the midfield.
