Moyes Keen On Getting The €42+ Million Deal Done

Manchester United are hoping to use this summer transfer window to bolster their team and significantly improve their lot in the Premier league as they prepare for next season. They are expected to be very busy in the transfer market.

But with the hope of playing in the lucrative Champions League next season dimming by the day, their chances of attracting world class talents to Old Trafford next season looks slim at best. They would need to attract quality players to their fold or else they may miss out of the Champions League for two or more consecutive seasons.

This time around, Moyes is going after the right quality. With players like Toni Kroos, Marco Reus, William Carvalho, Luke Shaw, Illkay Gundogan, Eliaquim Mangala all on their watch list, they hopefully should do better if they would be able to land some of these players.

In the previous transfer windows, David Moyes dissipated energy chasing some quality talents but ended up with mediocre Mourane Fellaini from his former club and Chelsea’s Juan Mata. Moyes made frantic efforts to sign Marco Reus from Borussia Dortmund last summer but it was a failed attempt as he was told the player was not for sale.

United are prepared to try again one more time according to reports. Moyes is keen on getting the deal sealed this time around. The German international would cost United something in the region of €42 million to bring him to Old Trafford.

Reus is arguably one of the best players in the world for his position. Signing him is not going to be a piece of cake for United. With their chances of playing in the Champions League diminishing by the day, it would take something akin to a miracle to get Reus to sign for them.

One only hopes that Moyes would not end up again chasing shadows as he goes to the transfer window once again.
