Toni Kroos To Manchester United Rumours Are False - Reports

Bayern Munich midfielder Toni Kroos has been a transfer target for English club Manchester United for some time now. The transfer saga surrounding the player has generated so much debate.  The reasons are not far-fetched. For a start, kroos is one of the best players in the world in his position.

The fact that he has just a year left in his contract and is yet to sign any contract extension with his club further heightens the speculation. The Bavarian side is doing what they can to try to get Kroos to sign for a new contract according to reports.

The player hinted that he might leave the club for the Premier League next summer. He has reportedly told his team mates he would like to join one of England’s most successful club sides, Manchester United.

United’s Coach David Moyes began the chase for the German midfielder in January when he accompanied the player’s agent to watch him play. It was here that Moyes got wind of the face off between the player and his club.

This was the report that got the rumour mill started. Since then, there has been no end to the various news linking Kroos with United. According to The Metro, Manchester United are willing to offer the player £250,000-a-week to persuade him to come down to Old Trafford.

As if to lend credence to the United’s transfer link, just this March, Kroos told reporters that the Premiership was a possibility for him.

Spanish media are also reporting that Spanish giants Real Madrid are also interested in Kroos.
El Confidencial reported that Kroos was interested in playing for Madrid. This report was from FIFA agent Francois Gallardo who has a penchant for spreading falsehood. Remember his famous Messi to leave Barcelona story? Well it turned out to be a lie as usual.

If you believe a report in Bild, the Kroos to United rumours are also false. Kroos consultant Volker Struth told BILD : “We are confronted with a variety of rumors for months, but will continue not get to learn. But the moment I believe that Toni plays at least in Bavaria until 2015.”

That seems like a denial of the rumours. However, it could also be a case of his consultant trying to hide the truth so as to ensure his client does not burn his bridges with Bayern Munich which could back fire if a deal to united or any other club for that matter does not materialize.

As always, towards the end of the season or the beginning of a transfer window, the media would be awash with stories of various transfer targets of various clubs. Readers discretion is advised. Mind what you read and what you choose to believe.
