Manchester United Latest: Cavani Back On The Radar As Moyes Consider Swap Deal

Rumours of Edison Cavani to Manchester United have resurfaced again after the club’s efforts to sign him before he went to PSG proved abortive.

However, there are feelings in several quarters that the Uruguayan international is not settled at the capital, and fancies a move out this summer. The former Napoli striker, who has scored 22 goals in 37 appearances for PSG, is only in his first season in Paris. His major reason for desiring a move out of PSG is due to his inability to play in his preferred position. Laurent Blanc prefers playing the striker in a wide position, which does not bring the best out of him.

The Daily Star had carried a report earlier in the week that David Moyes of Manchester United was mulling over a cash plus swap deal to involve Nani in order to bring Cavani to Manchester this summer. As long as doubts continue to emerge about the player’s future at PSG, rumours will continue to make the rounds about moves to interested suitors.

Not quite long ago, Jorge Mendes, who is the agent of Portuguese international, Nani admitted that the player is likely to leave Manchester United at the of the season to a another club.

The idea is to convince PSG to accept cash plus Nani in exchange for the 27 year old player, who was once rated as one of the most lethal strikers in the Italian league while playing for Napoli. It is not yet known if PSG will be willing to accept cash plus player swap to let the Uruguayan leave at the end of the season; but what is very clear is the fact that United are desperately in need of a player in the class of Edison Cavani in order to rebuild the team, which is currently lying 7th on the league table.

It is also certain that one big name will give way for the signing of another top player; and one is tempted to look at the direction of Robin van Persie, who is currently out injured. The Dutch international, according to rumours is unhappy at the club.
