Manchester United’s coach David Moyes is reported to have been given a transfer war chestof £200m to shop for new players in the summer transfer window. The Scot is completely dissatisfied with the woeful performance of his team and is set to inject new players into the team during the transfer window.
As Moyes heads to the transfer market, these six names are likely to his shopping list:
Toni Kroos (Bayern Munich)
This is David Moyes’ top transfer target. With Kroos’ contract expiring next summer, the Scot is hoping to entice him to come to Old Trafford with big money. The 24 year old midfielder was very instrumental to his side’s 3 – 1 victory over United last Wednesday in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League quarter final match at the Allianz Arena. He also played a key role in his side’s victory over another English club Arsenal in the round of 16.
After their loss in Germany on Wednesday, United’s executive Vice Chairman Ed Woodward stayed behind in Munich too open talks about signing the player. United are willing to offer the player more than twice his current weekly wages.
Luke Shaw(Southampton)
One of the players on Moyes list is Southampton’s teenage talent Luke Shaw. The 18 year old English left back is been considered as a long term replacement for Patrice Evra who may be leaving the club in the summer.
Eliaquim Mangala (FC Porto)
Eliaquim Mangala is another player that Moyes is hoping to add to his squad. Currently several big clubs are also keeping their eyes on the player. Mangala would be expected to step into the shoes of departing United’s captain Nemanja Vidic. The Portuguese international has been the subject of a £38 million bid from the Citizens and they are looking at snapping him up quickly.
Marco Reus(Borussia Dortmund)
With Barcelona still smarting from their one year transfer ban following their irregularities in the signing of young players, Manchester United’s chase for the Borussia Dortmund player just got better.
Williams Carvalho (Sporting Lisbon)
The Portuguese international has been a regular first team player for his club. His impressive form had attracted several scouts from big clubs across Europe. A strong defender and a pacey midfielder, Carvalho’s ability to hold up the midfield has seen several opposition clubs struggling to get a hold on the ball.
Reus has a £33 million release clause but United are looking at offering cash and a player. This time it’s ex Dortmund playmaker Shinji Kagawa that would hopefully be used to smoothen the deal. Dortmund’s Coach Jurgen Klopp is a big fan of the 24 year old Japanese international and would most likely want to see him return to his fold.
Seamus Coleman (Everton)
Everton’s left-back Seamus is another player that has caught the attention of David Moyes’.
Which of these six would he likely get at the end of the day?
