Why Lack Of European Football Won't Affect United Attracting World Class Players

The pinnacle of an European based football player is winning the Champions league, but certainly not all players in Europe will win the coveted trophy irrespective of how talented the players is, a nice example is Ronaldo de Lima whose brilliant career does not include a Champions league winning medal. A whole lot of players will gladly take solace with the Europa cup as compensation. These two trophies are the epitome of a successful football career. As such it makes absolute sense for a top player to naturally want to play for a club that have a chance of winning these trophies or at least will be competing in the two.

Alas there are exceptions to the case; at the height of Christiano Ronaldo’s reign in Manchester United he left for world record transfer to Real Madrid insisting he needed to go for Madrid was his dream club- and that is where lays the answer to the riddle- Ronaldo would have gladly moved to Madrid even if they were not in Europe but because they are simply REAL MADRID and like Real Madrid, Manchester United is in the same class with an ability of to attract some of the players in the world whether in or out of Europe.

Another glowing example can be found right there in the city of Manchester, with City attracting top quality talent due to their interesting project despite having no history of winning laurels. Radamel Falcao moved to Monaco who just gained promotion to the elite division.

Personally, I do not think United will have any problem(s) attracting the sort of players that will return us to glory. Man United will attract the right kind of players due to their history, charm and NAME and with a world class manager in Van Gaal the job just got easier.
